Ok, the set up is pretty easy. First take 13 balls and freeze them to the long rail and to each other. I can't stress how important that they all be frozen together!! Start with the first ball just hanging over the corner of the pocket. Next, you'll see that in the below diagram I have a cue on the table.. disregard that. What you need is a rack, place the point in the pocket and turn it so that the flat edge is across the table (like the cue in the diagram). Cuetable.com doesn't allow for a rack on the table, so this is my best effort. Next place a blocker ball (the 13 in the diagram) so that it is the 5th ball out from the short rail on that first diamond line. Place the cue ball on the rail so the edge of the ball is flush with the point. Place the one ball approximately 2mm away from the cue ball.
Note the english I have on the ball. And that's not even high enough!! You need to jack up on the ball about 30 to 35 degrees. And hit the top of the ball. Really, totally not kidding. I struggled and struggled on this shot up until I saw Stefan hit it and I was to the side of him. It looked like he was going to miss the cue ball all together!! Way, Way up there .. with left. This is a type of fouette shot (meaning whip). It's way odd, it doesn't seem that hitting the ball on top like that would work, but trust me... it does. To be honest my fouette shot stinks, so in order to make this shot I need to aim where the chalk is on the table. If you are spinning the ball too much (lucky dog!) aim more up table. If you are running the ball up the table and missing the rack, aim more down table. Medium-hard hit.. punch through it!! Good luck!!
